    Bunion (Hallux Valgus)

    A bony bump that forms on the joint at the base of your big toe is called a bunion. It happens when the tip of the big toe gets pulled toward the smaller toes. The skin which is affected by bunion looks red in colored and sore. If left untreated, the deformity tends to worsen causing thickening of skin (callus) as well as deformity and pain in the other toes.
